KD//HA (Knock Down, Hide Away)

KD//HA (Knock Down, Hide Away)

This is part 2 of Interior Loci. In this project which is titled ‘Intensive Modes of Dwelling’ I have to develop my interior/performative qualities from my last project to create an Intensive Mode for Dwelling. I started by analysing the site, this inspired me to want to create a project that injected an element of fun into the office environment. This project is on going.

To be continued…..

Centrepoint Building Site Analysis

Centrepoint Building Site Analysis

The site for my current and last project of the year. Centrepoint Building is situated in London on the busy street of New Oxford Street. It is 117 m (385 ft) high, has 32 floors and 27,180 m2 (292,563 sq ft) of floor space. Most of the floors are occupied by offices. There is a private members club and restaurant on the top floors. And access to the building is currently prohibited to the public, making an interior site visit very difficult.

R-Evolving Space

R-Evolving Space

Interior Loci (part 1) project is the first part of my final project of 3rd year. I have to explore the boundaries of interior space, investigating the occurance of the inside. I first had to start with a manifesto both written and graphical exploring my ideas of at first a site-less space. This then developed into the design and construction of either a 1:1 or 1:2 scale prototype. My work had to accurately describe a spatial concept in clear relation to my manifesto.

Personal Reflection Space

Personal Reflection Space

My final project of 2nd year (Interior Performance Structure) was developing the relationship we have with the space we use and exploring the traditional building elements we deal with. We had to design a transformation of our chosen site (our studio) optimising/changing/challenging the relationship between the building elements and the human body. Therefore changing the impact on the interior.

Building element: Window, wall and floor.

Material: Concrete

Spatial element: Light

E³ Lab

E³ Lab

A small project for technology in year 2. The E³ is reference to Ecology, Economy and Equity. Using the Canterbury West train station as our site we had only the car park space in front to use. We had to explore sustainable solutions to creating a small pavilion. The pavilion itself had to promote awareness of sustainability to the public. The structure could only be 150m².

These drawings are a variation of ideas and doodles jotted down in my spare time.

Jewelry

Jewelry

During my National Diploma years I specialised in 3D design. Which varied from interior design, jewelry, product design and anything really that was to do with 3D. I decided to explore jewelry for one project and produced these leaf and flower inspired pieces in the workshop.
